Study shows that Seeland’s weight loss medication has minimal side effects

Zealand Pharma A/S said moderate doses of its experimental weight-loss drug helped patients shed pounds with less nausea than some other next-generation competitors in the growing obesity drug market.

Only about a third of patients received doses of Zealand Petrelintide were limited to 4.8 milligrams, causing nausea in one study, the Danish biotech company said Tuesday at the ObesityWeek conference in San Antonio. The group lost an average of 8.6% of their body weight within 16 weeks. Patients who received a higher dose of the drug experienced similar weight loss, but with more side effects, Zealand said.
