Election Night Parties in Chicago: 30 Places to Watch the Numbers Rise

There’s an election night for everyone, from those who watch the results every second to those who prefer to distract themselves with food or games. Here are 30 happenings in the Chicago area.

Election Day at Sidetrack

3:00 p.m., 3349 N Halsted St. Election coverage begins on some TVs at 3 p.m., but takes over much of the bar by 7 p.m., when the regular OUTspoken: LGBTQ+ storytelling event takes place at the Main/Cherry/North Bars.

Power of the Vote Election Night Watch Party

4 p.m. at Bomb Beauty Boutique, 837 West 115th Street. This free event will feature light snacks, drinks and a raffle for a free shirt and/or Visa gift card – with proof of voting.

Bronzeville Winery Election Day Viewing Party

5:00 p.m., 4420 South Cottage Grove Avenue. Reservations are available for this election night party with food and cocktails.

Queer Election Night Watch Party

5:00 p.m., 6840 32nd Street. Sapphic Before Sunset’s family-friendly event features drinks, NA specials and a food truck. Tickets are free.

Election night on Nobody’s Darling

5 p.m., 1744 W. Balmoral Ave. Nobody’s Darling offers 25% off all tickets with proof of voting.

“An evening of crafts, meditation and tea” from the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community

5:00 p.m., 211 W 23rd St. The free event, co-hosted by Life Is Tea, features crafts, meditation and tea as a way to relax on election night.

Election Night at Wilma’s Famous BBQ & Tavern

5:30 p.m., 17 North Wabash Avenue, Floor 2. Free reservations are available for this election night party.

District Brew Yards Election Night Watch Party

6 p.m., 417 N. Ashland Ave. This event will feature a BBQ buffet from Lillie’s Q for $20 per person. $5 from each ticket and 10% of all beer purchases will go to Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly.

City Club of Chicago Election Night Watch Party

6 p.m. at the Chicago Firehouse Blue Room, 1401 S. Michigan Ave. Tickets for the event — featuring guests Anne Caprara, Greg Hart, Christian Perry and Paris Schutz — are $150 for non-members and $100 for members. The event will feature sumptuous appetizers and cocktails.

Election night at the Empty Bottle

6:00 p.m., 1035 N Western Ave. At this free event – with an optional donation at the door for the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund – DJs play while televisions broadcast live results.

In these times, election night watch party

6:30 p.m., 2040 N. Milwaukee Ave. The free event is co-hosted by Haymarket Books, Pilsen Community Books and Nabala Cafe and features films, board games, food, drinks and “companionship”.

UChicago Institute on Politics Election Night Watch Party

6:30 p.m., 1212 E 59th St. This event is for current UChicago students only but features food, games and live coverage.

Election Night with Congressman Jonathan Jackson

6:30 p.m., 932 E 43rd St. The Haven Entertainment Center is hosting a watch party on a giant LED screen and six large monitors. Tickets are free.

Party for Socialism and Liberation Election Night Watch

6:30 p.m., 2712 W Cermak Rd. The free election night watch party PSL promises to look beyond the two parties in favor of third-party candidates and discussions about building a movement that “fights for justice and liberation.”

Millennial Effect: Election Night Edition 2024

7 p.m., 2210 S. Michigan Ave. Ald. Stephanie Coleman and Hustle Mommies Founder Ariel Deney Host a Free Watch Party for “Black, Millennial Politicians.”

Election night at Whiskey Girl Tavern

7:00 p.m., 6318 N Clark St. The first round of pizza will be free at the bar, with 40th District Democrats Committeewoman Maggie O’Keefe and Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th) observes the results together with the guests.

Chicago Republican Party Night Watch Election Party

7:00 p.m. at 6724 N Northwest Hwy. Tickets for this Back to the Future Trump watch party are $25.

Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Phi Kappa Omega Chapter Election Night Watch Party

7 p.m. at Bronzeville Soul, 4655 South Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Drive. This event is free for everyone, including those not affiliated with the sorority to which Kamala Harris belongs.

Monica Gordon Election Night Watch Party

7 p.m., 124 S. 5th Ave., Maywood. The free event will be moderated by former Cook County Commissioner and current Interim County Clerk and co-hosted by SEIU 73, Maywood Together Party, Broadview People’s Party and Bellwood First Party. It doubles as an election night party and is an opportunity to honor the late Karen Yarbrough.

Evanston Democratic Party election night party with Jan Schakowsky

7 p.m. at Five and Dime, 1026 Davis St Upstairs, Evanston. The free event is co-hosted by the Niles Township Democrats and committee member Josina Morita and requires advance registration.

Libertarian Party of Illinois Election Night Watch Party

7 p.m. at O’Sullivan’s in Forest Park, 7244 Madison St. Candidates Andrew Kopinski, Michael Murphy, Chris Laurent, James Humay and Nico Tsatsoulis will be in attendance.

Chicago Votes Action Fund Election Night Watch Party

7 p.m., 1006 S. Michigan Ave. Suite 606. Light refreshments will be available at this free event.

Presidential election night party at Robert’s Westside

7 p.m. at 7321 Madison Street, Forest Park. Snacks and dips are free at this free event, but attendees are welcome to bring their own food and snacks.

DeKalb County Democratic Party Election Night Watch Party

7 p.m., 1020 Sharon Dr., DeKalb. This free event is catered by El Jimador.

New Trier Democratic Guard Party

7:00 p.m. at Fred’s Garage, 574 Green Bay Rd, Winnetka. Democrats from Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, Northfield and Glenview will gather for this free event.

Maine Township Democrats Watch Party

7 p.m. at Beacon Tap, 1374 Lee St, Des Plaines. This event, which will serve food and drinks, is free and there is an opportunity to donate to the host Maine Township Dems.

Delia Ramirez election night party

7:30 p.m. at Markitos Bar and Grill, 3S071 Illinois Rte 59, Unit 110, Warrenville. Congresswoman Delia Ramirez will attend an Election Night Watch party before heading to another one later in the evening.

Cook County Republican Party Election Night Watch Party

7:30 p.m. at Coach’s Corner Sports Bar & Grill, 8118 W. 143rd Street, Orland Park. This free event features free pizza and a bar.

Chicago Dramatists Open Mic and Watch Party

8 p.m. at the Russ Tutterow Theater, 798 N. Aberdeen St. This free event, hosted by Chicago Dramatists, features an open mic for songs, poems, comedies, monologues or essays. The regular program Tuesdays@9 takes place at 9 p.m., in which actors perform 10 pages of new, unproduced plays, teleplays, scripts or work-in-progress for the audience.

Fair Vote Illinois Election Night Watch Party

8:00 p.m., 4644 N Central Ave. This free voting party, focused on ranked-choice voting referendums in Peoria and Oak Park, will track the results of other RCV races across the country in addition to candidate races.

Our school board Election Night Watch Party

8:45 p.m., 1901 W Carroll Ave. Children are welcome at this event, hosted by the Chicago Teacher’s Union and United Working Families, which features food, drinks and music from DJ Cashera as well as several candidates and elected officials.
