Driving under the influence leads to drug and weapons arrests

On November 4, 2024, SP Albion troopers arrested Jefferson D. Butler, 42, of Batavia, New York, on charges of DUI and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3approx Completion – Assault Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7Th Graduation and drug paraphernalia.

On November 4, 2024, SP Albion officers received a call to check on the welfare of a man who was behind the wheel on Lewiston Road in the Town of Batavia. The investigation revealed that Butler was intoxicated and in possession of approximately 6.51 grams of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a Ruger AR-15 style rifle with a threaded barrel and the ability to accept a detachable magazine, and 22 rounds of ammunition.

Butler was arraigned without incident and transported to the Genesee County CAP for arraignment.
