Arrest in Medford Pizzeria Shooting – NBC Boston

A 16-year-old resident of Somerville, Massachusetts, was arrested last week in connection with a shooting outside a Medford pizzeria.

Medford police said Tuesday that the teen faces multiple charges in juvenile court, including assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a firearm with ammunition, possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm in a perimeter of 500 feet around a building and attempted assault by discharging a firearm.

Surveillance video captured the horrific incident, which occurred around 1 a.m. Friday outside Pizza Days, just down the street from Tufts University. The footage showed a large group of people in the parking lot, with one person seen pulling a gun from his waistband and firing it. The crowd quickly fled.

At this time, two police patrol cars were parked in the parking lot. An officer could be seen drawing a gun, but the shooter was able to escape.

Medford police said their investigation revealed that two people fired multiple shots at a victim during an argument outside the pizzeria. No injuries were reported.

Officers found a gun and several bullet casings at the scene. They reported hearing a total of eight shots.

A second suspect, identified by police as 18-year-old Sinai Stephens of Cambridge, is still at large. Anyone with information about his whereabouts or other information about the incident is asked to contact Medford police at 781-391-6767.
