LinkedIn offers tips for posting short videos on the app [Infographic]

LinkedIn has offered some advice on how to get the most out of its new full-screen vertical video feed. This is essentially an attempt to join the TikTok content trend through short clips that grab attention.

What I have questions about in the LinkedIn context. But LinkedIn reported this recently “Immersive video views” increased 6x quarter-over-quarter, while total video viewers on the app increased 36% year-over-year.

So the video wins in the app. And as it tries to attract more younger users, it makes sense to also experiment with a TikTok-like feed. I’m just not sure LinkedIn has the relevant content.

Regardless, LinkedIn’s advice for reaching users through this feed is included in the overview below (via social media expert Matt Navarra).

Important instructions:

  • Videos that are less than 2 minutes long but longer than 15 seconds perform best
  • Add a relevant description to your video
  • Try encouraging sharing and/or commenting to maximize engagement
