Do you live among Democrats or Republicans? How New Jersey counties are breaking red and blue in big elections.

Election Day is just around the corner and it’s time to take a look at how many Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters are registered in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties before the election.

While Democrats continue to hold a large advantage in the Garden State, Republicans continue their trend of registering more voters.

Democrats have more than 2.5 million registered voters but have only increased their ranks by 9,776 since the last presidential election in 2020. Republican registration increased 12.5%, an increase of 178,474.

Election 2024: Voter’s Guide to New Jersey’s November Elections

The number of independent voters saw a modest increase of less than 2% and now represents about 2.4 million voters.

The Republican trend toward registering voters is even more evident when looking at county-by-county totals. The party has added voters in all 21 New Jersey counties since 2020, with the biggest gain coming in the GOP stronghold of Ocean County. Democrats, on the other hand, have fewer registered voters in 11 counties than in 2020.

New Jersey has been ahead in presidential elections since 1992, and Republicans have not won a U.S. Senate race since 1972. Both offices are at the top of the polls this year.

Here’s a breakdown by county.

Atlantic County
