The Clinton County Health Department is reopening Wendy’s Restaurant in Centralia after it was closed due to leaks

The Clinton County Health Department closed the Wendy’s restaurant on West Broadway in Centralia on Monday due to roof leaks. An official at Wendy’s in Centralia reported that the restaurant reopened Tuesday afternoon after repairs and a new inspection by the health department.

The health department’s inspection followed a complaint about a leaky roof and found several problems, including: brown water collecting in light fixtures above the service counter and dripping onto beverage equipment, counters and shelves, “profuse leakage” from the ceiling in the restrooms , behind the service counter/beverage area and in two locations in the rear kitchen area, water on the floor throughout the kitchen and service counter areas, water pooling in the hallway and restrooms, clogged mop sink drain, and damage to employees’ clothing wet from leaks in the ceiling .

The inspector immediately closed the restaurant and provided specific instructions on how to correct the problems and actions to be taken before the restaurant was allowed to reopen. Wendy’s reports it met those requirements and reopened Tuesday.
