Amarillo police identify a man killed in a motorcycle crash at I-40 and Bell

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Amarillo police have identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash near I-40 and Bell on November 4th.

According to Amarillo police, officers were dispatched to the accident area around 6 p.m

Upon arrival, officers found a black 2009 Kawasaki sports motorcycle and a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup.

The motorcycle was traveling south on Bell Street and crossed the southbound front of I-40.

The pickup was traveling eastbound on southbound I-40, which intersected Bell Street.

Officials say the pickup truck struck the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 19-year-old Landon McGinnis, died at the scene as a result of the accident.

The driver of the Dodge pickup was not injured.

The Potter County judge responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy.

This accident is being investigated by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Team.
