Blues forward Dylan Holloway leaves game against Tampa Bay in first period, is “alert and stable”

Blues forward Dylan Holloway left Tuesday night’s game against the Lightning after being hit by a puck in the right side of his head and neck, and the team later announced he was alert and stable.

The puck was a deflected shot attempt by Tampa Bay’s Nick Paul that came up and hit Holloway high in the shoulder, collarbone and neck with 2:36 left in the first period. Holloway finished his shift and walked to the Blues bench.

He received medical attention on the bench and was taken away on a stretcher. As he made his way through the Blues tunnel, Holloway moved his right arm.

The officials sent both the Blues and Lightning to their locker rooms with 1:11 left in the first period.

About five minutes into the second half, the Blues announced that Holloway was “alert and stable” and was being taken to hospital for “further monitoring and assessment.”
