Kansas woman’s cause of death confirmed after body found in freezer

New details about a grisly murder case are coming to light.

Investigators are investigating the murders Jilian Kelley39, and Veronica ButlerThe 27-year-olds, whose bodies were found in an Oklahoma freezer two weeks after they were reported missing in March, say they now believe the women were killed to end a custody battle over their paternal grandmother , CBS reported, citing court documents.

But as the investigation continues, Kelley’s probable cause of death has been confirmed.

According to a medical examiner’s report, seen by E! News said her death was due to “multiple sharp force trauma,” while the manner of death was listed as a homicide. According to the report, Kelley’s body had nine stab wounds and seven lacerations, two of which were “consistent with Mrs. Kelley attempting to defend herself.”

“Although possible stun gun marks were visible on her neck and back left shoulder,” the report continued, “the decomposed condition of her body limited definitive gross and microscopic confirmation.”
