No one should be alone on election night: Here’s where to find a watch party in Portland

It’s Election Day in America and everyone is feeling some sort of uncertainty about it.

Are you ready to laugh, cry, scream and/or vomit over the election results? Why not do it all surrounded by strangers? A handful of Portland bars and restaurants are hosting watch parties tonight.

CC slaughters

218 NW Davis St., beginning at 7 p.m

Can’t handle the stress? Pride Northwest is hosting a watch party at CC Slaughters with an on-site massage therapist and music from DJ Queer Cub to “keep us dancing through it all!”

Revolution Hall

1300 SE Stark St., starting at 6:30 p.m

Author/essayist Courtenay Hameister and stand-up comedian Jason Rouse will host this free watch party. The event is sponsored by Willamette Week and will feature “guest appearances from local, state and national officials.”

Mississippi Studios

3939 N Mississippi Ave., starting at 6:30 p.m

Comedians Alex Falcone and Shain Brenden host the free Official Portland Mercury Election Watch Party.

Sissy bar

1416 SE Morrison St., starting at 4 p.m

Sissy Bar, the queer bar that recently announced its closure, is opening tonight as a special “pop-up” with a limited menu. “Come and cheer for the results when they come in,” the bar’s Facebook page says.

Sports bra

2512 NE Broadway, starting at 7 p.m

Normally you would go to The Sports Bra to watch women’s sports on TV. Watch the results come in tonight as the restaurant offers a limited menu.

Sandy jug

7417 NE Sandy Blvd., starting at 9 p.m

The former strip club turned neighborhood bar hosts a free Election Night Comedy Corral, hosted by Julia Corral. Relax on election night with comedians Brandon Lyons, Brent Lowery, Kate Murphy and Dylan Jenkins.

The taproom for verses of tomorrow

4605 NE Fremont St., starting at 5 p.m

This Beaumont neighborhood taproom and bottle shop invites you to check out the election results as they come in. “What else will you do?” the event page reads. “Watch it at home alone and freak out all by yourself?”

Mayfly

8350 N. Fenwick Ave., bar opens at 2 p.m

Show the bartender at Mayfly that you voted and get $2 off every pint as you watch the election results on all screens.

Radio room

1101 NE Alberta St., starting at 6 p.m

Watch the election results in the bar that Eater PDX once called “Alberta’s living room.” The watch party is a tradition, the bar writes on its Instagram page, “for better or for worse.”
