How much does Netflix cost?

We’re just days away from the return of boxing star Mike Tyson, who will take on YouTuber and former professional boxer Jake Paul in a heavyweight bout.

The heavyweight bout between Tyson and Paul was sanctioned as a professional bout, meaning the fight will be scored and a winner determined, unlike Tyson’s 2020 exhibition fight against fellow Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr.

The fight was originally scheduled for July 20, but Tyson suffered an injury that delayed his training camp and ultimately pushed the fight back to November.

The delay didn’t change much, however, as the fight still took place at AT&T Stadium and was still broadcast live on Netflix.

Here’s everything you need to know about streaming the fight on Netflix.

Details about the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on Netflix

While Tyson’s return to the ring will attract as much attention as any major pay-per-view boxing match, the broadcast of his fight against Paul will be unlike any boxing card before it.

The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight card will be the first boxing event to air live on Netflix, following Netflix’s previous live golf and tennis events. All Netflix subscribers will be able to watch the fight card at no additional cost, a sharp contrast to the pay-per-view model boxing fans are used to for big fights.

“It’s Most Valuable Promotions that has been a game-changer since we got into the advertising business, and we’re continuing to move up and do things differently and see gaps in the market that no one else has seen,” Paul said at a press conference at the May conference. “We wanted to work with Netflix, they liked the idea and saw the vision in what we could build and what kind of events we could host.”

“This is literally the biggest fight of the 21st century because it’s Mike Tyson versus me, but also because it’s free in 700 million households on Netflix and can be seen by every subscriber.”

Ahead of the fight, Netflix will release Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson, a three-part documentary series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at Tyson and Paul’s training camps as they prepare for their heavyweight showdown.
