A snowstorm hitting Denver is moving through Colorado as winter weather advisories and a winter storm warning remain in effect for parts of the metropolitan area and the Eastern Plains. The snow is expected to continue until Wednesday morning.

5:30am | Lisa Hidalgo’s forecast update | Happy snow day! Snow will continue through mid-morning, with snow being heaviest south and east of Denver. Tonight we could see well over a foot into the Far Eastern plains!

5:20am | Interstate Conditions | Denver7 traffic expert Jayson Luber says treacherous driving conditions are expected on I-70 along the plains near Burlington. Closer to the subway, Luber says plows are working on I-70 and driving conditions are mostly wet.

I-25 near Colorado Blvd is also plowed and has wet conditions.

In the downtown area, drivers should remain vigilant when crossing bridges and overpasses that are “really slippery and snowy.”

5:14 am | Additional amounts of snow | Denver7 Morning Meteorologist Lisa Hidalgo says snow will continue this morning with these additional amounts possible.

5:00 am | Weather-related delays | Regis Jesuit High School will be closed Wednesday due to snow. Douglas County Government and Schools are on a 90-minute delay.

4:45am | School delay | The Douglas County School District announced that schools and buses will be delayed 90 minutes Wednesday morning due to weather conditions.

4:30am | Winter Weather Advice | According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder, the Denver metro is under a winter advisory for snow accumulations between 2 and 8 inches until 11 p.m. Wednesday.
