The Baldur’s Gate 3 developer’s next project has been leaked

But it appears that Larian is currently pursuing at least one other project as well, as evidenced by the fact Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition has just received a new PEGI rating. The classification originally discovered by Gematsu was published on November 6th. The biggest change compared to the game’s previous review was the mention of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Both can already run the last-gen versions of the RPG thanks to their backwards compatibility, but have not yet received dedicated ports Divinity: Original Sin 2.


While the PEGI database entry also mentions the PC version of the game, this is most likely because the new rating was consolidated with the existing one. Finally, Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition is already available on PC, where it released in August 2018, along with its PlayStation and Xbox ports. The improved version of the role-playing game was given away to all owners of the PC original, which was released a year earlier.

This newly leaked version of the game therefore appears to be a relatively low-risk, high-reward move for the Belgian studio. It remains to be seen what improvements Larian could offer on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For reference, the last generation consoles already run the game in 4K, with the Xbox One only running both consoles Divinity: Original Sin 2 with 30 frames per second.

Divinity: Original Sin 3 is still being planned

Whatever the case may be, what is certain is that this rumored re-release will not be the last addition to the RPG series. That’s according to Larian CEO Swen Vincke, who recently said it’s a third deity The game will “definitely” happen at some point.
