Liam Payne’s “boyfriend” and two hotel workers are being investigated over the singer’s death

A friend of Liam Payne and two hotel workers are reportedly being investigated over the singer’s death.

According to TMZ, Argentine police conducted another raid on the homes of hotel workers and the former One Direction musician’s unidentified pal on Tuesday evening.

Authorities also searched employees’ hotel lockers and reviewed security footage from the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where Payne died last month.

The outlet reported that police believe workers contacted the “Night Changes” singer before he fell to his death from his third-floor hotel balcony.

Investigators reportedly used text messages from Payne’s cell phone to identify the “friend” who may also have sold him drugs.

However, the “friend” was not at home during the raid.

Last month, Argentine authorities searched the hotel to “obtain elements of interest to the investigation,” a police source told Argentine newspaper LA NACION.

A second source said those items of interest included “documents and videos” from the lobby and courtyard so investigators could reconstruct Payne’s final moments before his death.

They also acquired the hotel’s computers, telephones and other equipment.

Payne died on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room. He was 31.

Buenos Aires police said in a statement that the former boy band member’s fall resulted in “extremely serious injuries.”

Alberto Crescenti, head of Buenos Aires’ medical services, also explained that the pop star suffered from a fractured skull.

After his death, authorities discovered that Payne’s hotel room was full of drug paraphernalia and alcohol.

Also on the desk in his room were an empty Dove soap packet, a lit candle, a burnt soda can lid and a piece of aluminum foil.

Police believe the Dove box was used to “secretly” deliver illegal substances to Payne.

A toxicology report found he had multiple drugs in his system, including crack cocaine and “pink cocaine,” a recreational drug that typically mixes methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others.

As part of the investigation, authorities discovered security footage from the hotel that showed Payne was in the balcony area when he passed out and fell to his death.

The X Factor alum’s body will reportedly be flown back to the UK and his funeral will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral in Wolverhampton, the city where he grew up.
