Ella Emhoff shows off her knitting skills with a call to vote for Kamala Harris

Ella Emhoff is using her knitting skills to make sure everyone goes to the polls – especially for her stepmother, Vice President Kamala Harris.

On Instagram, the 25-year-old posted a picture of a knitted “I Voted” piece with an American flag on a white background. In the caption, she made a very direct call to action for her followers. “Have you voted yet? “Have you checked to see if your friends and family voted?” she wrote. “Vote for the future you want and the change you want to see. If this election doesn’t affect you (which is currently affecting us all over the world), vote for the people it affects. We must protect our rights, our planet and our communities.” She ended the call and made it clear which candidate she was referring to. “There is only one option for any positive change and that is Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

Emhoff has become a fixture in the fashion world over the past four years since she was thrust into the spotlight at Joe Biden’s inauguration, and not just because of her knitting skills, which she’s showcased through brand collaborations and a knitting collective called Soft Hands but also because of her work as a model and her personal style. She walked the runway for Coach during Fashion Week and also sat front row at several other shows. At several political events, Emhoff showed how you can use fashion to make a statement about your beliefs and values, championed young sustainable designers and wore the famous merchandise for the Harris-Walz campaign.

With just one day left until voting ends on November 6th, it’s safe to say that Ella Emhoff will be considering her potential next role if Harris wins: First Daughter.
