Plane en route to Provo crashes in Arizona, killing 4 people on board

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — A plane en route to Provo crashed in Arizona on Tuesday, killing a total of five people, including four aboard the plane.

The crash occurred in the afternoon near Falcon Field in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa.

Aerial photos showed the plane burning and at least one vehicle damaged. One of the five people killed was an unknown driver who was lying on the ground at the time of the accident.

On Wednesday, police released the names of the four passengers on the plane who died in the crash. They have been identified as:

  • Spencer Lindahl (43 years old)
  • Rustin Randall (48)
  • Drew Kimball (44)
  • Graham Kimball (12)

Flight tracking website FlightRadar24 showed the flight was en route to Provo when it crashed. Landing in Utah was scheduled for 6:30 p.m

Terri Fairfield, a hiker at nearby Usery Mountain Regional Park, saw smoke minutes after the crash.

The NTSB is currently investigating the crash.
