Outer Banks is ending with a fifth and final season

It’s true, Pogues. Outer Banks will be back for season 5 and it will also be the final season of the series. The season four finale, the series’ first feature-length episode, “sets the stage for an epic fifth and final season.” Outer Banks Creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke narrate Tudum.

A letter to fans said: OBX The creators also reflect on what working on the series has meant to them over the past seven years. And how it all started when they came across a photo of teenagers on the beach during a power outage at dusk.

“This photo gave rise to the idea for a story about four best friends who just want to have a good time,” the creators wrote in the letter. “From the beginning, we envisioned a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey full of adventure, treasure hunting and friendship.” From there, P4L was born.

As they are currently in the middle of working on the scripts for Season 5, the endgame is in sight. The main treasure hunt of Blue Crown Season 4 “should take us to the end,” Burke says.

Outer Banks: Season 4, Part 1 debuted at number 1 on the global top 10 on English television following its release on October 10th and remained in the top 10 for three weeks, reaching the top 10 in 74 countries until the release of Part 2 on November 7th. Across all four seasons Outer Banks has spent a total of 27 weeks in the global top 10 list of English TV channels.

The makers also had the final frame of Outer Banks in her mind for a while. As they told Tudum last season, “We always knew from the beginning what the final scene would be,” said Josh Pate.
