Texas DPS Prepares for Surge in Illegal Immigration | NewsRadio 740 KTRH

With Election Day behind us, attention now turns to the southern border, where another massive surge in illegal immigrants is expected soon. We could end up with larger numbers than anything we saw last year.

Immigration expert Joseph Humire told Fox News: “This is probably the most predictable caravan of all. A lot of people said there would likely be a mass migration of people to the United States as the election gets closer.”

Humire warned that this incoming caravan would be just as criminal as the groups that have been illegally crossing the U.S. southern border for four years. He said: “Do you know who will pay the price first if you allow these criminals and terrorists to infiltrate these migrant networks? The migrants! They are the ones who are actually being abused and exploited.”

The Texas Department of Public Safety appears confident it can handle this surge. Texas DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez spoke to Fox and said, “We are watching this closely. Tens of thousands of immigrants are currently waiting in southern Mexico. We expect a surge, but the thing is: In Texas, we’re ready.”
