Police search for two suspects after chase, overnight crash in Granite City

GRANITE CITY, Ill. (First Alert 4) – Police are searching for two suspects after a car chase in Granite City overnight resulted in a crash.

The chase happened just after 3 a.m. when Madison County police attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver continued driving and gave chase. The driver turned onto 16th Street near Niedringhaus and crashed next to some train tracks.

According to police, two suspects fled the vehicle and are still at large.

The investigation is currently active.

First Alert 4 is working to determine the reason for the pursuit and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
