Suspect arrested after incident at Cracker Barrel in north Jackson

Incident at Cracker Barrel Jackson

[Jackson, TN] On November 6, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a disturbance with possible gunshots at the Cracker Barrel at 188 Vann Drive. At some point, a caller advised dispatch that a five-month-old infant had been hit in the head. Upon arrival, patrol officers quickly discovered that there was confusion about what was actually happening, as multiple callers at Cracker Barrel had given conflicting accounts. Ultimately, it was determined that no shots were fired and no one was seriously injured.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a person attempted to forcibly remove a two-month-old child from her mother’s arms. It was also determined that the suspect was a client of A Plus Care Solutions, an assisted living facility. This individual was accompanied at the restaurant by A Plus Support staff. Based on the individual’s actions, which were captured on video along with witness statements, the suspect was taken into custody pending an evaluation.

The mother and two-month-old child were treated at the scene by emergency services for minor injuries and released. This is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has any additional information regarding this incident, please contact the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400.
