4 injured in chlorine leak at Colorado hotel

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Springs Fire Department and a hazmat team responded to a chlorine leak in the basement of the Satellite Hotel, a residential and commercial building at 411 Lakewood Circle, according to an X post Wednesday morning.

Officials said teams were assessing the building starting at 10:14 a.m. Initial reports suggested the leak occurred during routine maintenance.

According to Gazette news partner KOAA, four people were treated at the scene for injuries related to chlorine inhalation. A department spokesman said the first floor of the building was evacuated while floors above were protected.

Victim identified in fatal hit-and-run at Monument McDonald’s

The El Paso County coroner has identified the victim in Monday’s fatal hit-and-run crash in Monument as 47-year-old Kristy Kerst.
