Principal Investigator Videos: Leo Sugrue on Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation

Leo Sugrue, MD, PhDAssociate Professor in the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, develops non-invasive image-guided neuromodulation techniques to treat psychiatric disorders. In this video, he describes new treatments that have the potential to transform the treatment of psychiatric illnesses.

As co-director of the UCSF Focused Ultrasound in Neuroscience Program and director of the Laboratory for Precision Neuroimaging, Sugrue is dedicated to the development of neuromodulation to treat psychiatric disorders. Sugrue works with experts in psychiatry, neurosurgery and neurology at UCSF’s Nancy Friend Pritzker Psychiatry Building and throughout UCSF and the medical center, and is proud of the non-invasive treatment options his research enables and the broad spectrum of diseases that she can help with.
