Washington Huskies @ Penn State Nittany Lions – How to watch Big 10 football on Peacock

Excitement Rating: 7/10. The Huskies travel to Happy Valley as 13-point underdogs. Does anyone remember the last time UW was an underdog by at least this margin? It was over nine years ago when they traveled to Palo Alto and lost to Stanford. They won their last 2-TD underdog game earlier that same season against USC. This season was Chris Petersen’s first as UW head coach and there have been three other coaches since his tenure. Which is to say that a lot has changed since the last time UW played a team that was expected to beat them just as badly.

But you know what? I think the Huskies can stay close enough to make it entertaining. Penn State has an efficient offense that lacks the dominant receiver play to be dominant. Yes, it will be difficult for UW to stop the Penn St running game. At the same time, UW should be able to move the ball with quick strikes and under passes that get out before Penn St gets to Will Rogers. If the red zone efficiency we saw against USC is sustained, it’s even possible that a lucky turnover or penalty could give the Dawgs a real chance to win. The odds of winning are too great to feel extreme excitement in this game, but I think the Dawgs can make it a good game. Combined with the nighttime white-out setting in Happy Valley, this should make the film well worth seeing.
