(CBS DETROIT) – According to Ann Arbor police, a driver threatened a bicyclist with a gun after nearly hitting him with an SUV Thursday afternoon.

The alleged road rage incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. Thursday in the area of ​​Glen Avenue and Catherine Street. The cyclist said he yelled at the driver of an SUV after he was nearly hit by the vehicle. The man claims the driver then caught up with him, threatened him and pointed a gun at him.

According to police, the suspect then left the area. He was last seen driving toward the Glen in a white midsize SUV.

This is the second suspected traffic incident in Ann Arbor this week. According to police, a driver was dragged from his vehicle, punched in the face and threatened with a gun early Wednesday morning after he made an “offensive hand gesture” toward the other driver at the intersection of Main and Madison streets. The driver stopped at one flashing yellow traffic light. Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
