Predictions for the ATP semifinals in Belgrade, including Jiri Lehecka vs Denis Shapovalov

Hamad Medjedovic and Laslo Djere will meet in an all-Serbian semi-final, ensuring the home crowd will have someone to cheer for on Saturday. In the bottom half of the draw, Denis Shapovalov will face No. 4 seed Jiri Lehecka. Who do you think will reach the final?

Predictions for the ATP semifinals in Belgrade

Laslo Djere vs. Hamad Medjedovic

Head-to-head: Djere 2-1

This season has been a struggle for Laslo Djere, even before he was injured in the spring, but with this run he still gives himself a chance to break into the top 100. One or two more wins would really help and the Serb has been fireworks so far in Belgrade, not dropping a set on the way to the semi-finals. Hamad Medjedovic is in a similar situation, struggling to get back into shape after a serious illness in the first four months of the season. The 2023 Next Gen Finals champion recently lost to Djere in the Stockholm qualifiers and will have to put in even more effort to move on. However, his potential is still there and he has the immense power to power through any pitch in any match.
Prediction: Medjedovic in 3

Jiri Lehecka vs. Denis Shapovalov

Head-to-head: Lehecka 1:0

Jiri Lehecka lost 3:6, 1:4 against Lukas Klein in the quarterfinals and delivered a weak performance that kept him busy in the last few weeks. But he found the break back and suddenly a whole new level of intensity. However, Denis Shapovalov will not be easy to beat. While one would have expected a little more from the Canadian before this season once he was healthy, it looks like he could start this year with a bang. He destroyed Christopher O’Connell and just has that vibe about him this week. He is confident and energetic, showing what his previous top level was.
Prediction: Shapovalov in 3
