Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Duluth’s Burning Tree Plaza

Duluth Police told us the roads are expected to remain closed until approximately 5 p.m. as the investigation and cleanup continues.

3:20 p.m. UPDATE: The motorcyclist suffered “significant injuries” in the accident.

According to Duluth police, an eastbound car was turning onto Burning Tree on a yellow arrow when a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with the car.

According to police, the motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle into a fence and suffered serious injuries.

They were taken to a hospital.

We’re told the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The roads remained closed as of 3:25 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing.

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – Duluth Police, Fire and EMS were at the scene of a motorcycle accident near Duluth’s Burning Tree Plaza Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Maple Grove Road and Burning Tree Road around 2:20 p.m.

Our crew on scene advised us that Burning Tree Road and a portion of Maple Grove Road were closed as of 2:55 p.m. due to law enforcement response and investigations.

We are working to learn about any injuries.
