Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after crash in West Hartford – NBC Connecticut

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car in West Hartford Friday evening.

Authorities said they responded to Oakwood Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. for a report of an accident involving a pedestrian.

Responding officers said one person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

West Hartford police said Oakwood Avenue was closed between Seymour Avenue and Kane Street.

The road closure is expected to last several hours and motorists are asked to take alternative routes.
