The playoff brackets will be announced when the postseason begins

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The high school football playoff field takes place in Florida and Georgia.

Providence (7-3), St. Augustine (8-1) and undefeated Nease (9-0) and Raines (9-0) secured the top spot for when the Florida High School Athletic Association bracket was released on Friday the state playoffs night.

The opening round will feature some purely local matchups with Beachside-Ponte Vedra, Columbia-St. Augustine, Oakleaf-Mandarin, Baker County-Bishop Kenny and Impact Christian-University Christian.

The perennial playoff teams Bartram Trail and Fletcher narrowly missed out. The Senators (5-5) missed the playoffs for the first time since 2019.

Parker (5-5) finished in a three-way tie in District 3-4A with Menendez and Bishop Kenny, but finished 10th in the region and lost a playoff spot due to its ranking points.

The Bears (4-6) lost five games to St. Johns County teams on Thursday night, including a shootout against Nease, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018 (1 percentage point) St. Johns County had an outstanding season.

Creekside, Nease and St. Augustine all won district championships. Beachside, Menendez and Ponte Vedra all made the playoffs. Considering St. Joseph’s private school went 8-1 in the regular season and competed in the Sunshine State Athletic Association playoffs, it was an outstanding year at St. John’s.

Some oddities also happened. Despite being district champions and defeating both Beachside and Ponte Vedra, Fleming Island (7-3) only managed to finish in sixth place and must travel to Mosley for the playoff opener.

In Region 1-5A, Middleburg reached the playoffs for the third straight year, a tremendous accomplishment for coach Ryan Wolfe. The Broncos (7-3) posted their best record since 2003 despite traveling to top-seeded Niceville for the opener.
