Following the debut of the new trailer on D23 Brazil, ARES footage has leaked online

Walt Disney Studios has released another trailer for Tron: Ares last night on D23, and while it hasn’t fully leaked online yet, we have a sneak peek at the latest installment of the groundbreaking film Science fiction franchise.

The film is a sequel to Disney’s groundbreaking 1982 science fiction film Tron and its 2010 sequel, Tron: Legacy.

Questions have been raised about the wisdom of giving Leto a lead role in a big-budget film following the response to this Morbiusbut these few seconds of footage highlight him as the leading man, putting the focus solely on the Oscar winner as his character heads into The Grid.

One of the highlights was working with Jeff Bridges. “Oh God, he’s just the best,” Leto previously said about his role in Tron: Ares. “I had one take where I literally had to say ‘cut’ and they were like, ‘What’s going on? Did something…?” And I’m like, ‘No, I just can’t stop smiling.'”

“He is everything. You know, it’s a money-back guarantee: This bastard will give you everything you ever wanted.” he enthused.

Regarding his role in the film, Leto said: “I play Ares, the master of the Grid – a program looking for a way to permanently make the world its own. It’s kind of the opposite.” [of previous movies]a bit of the Terminator thing where this technology comes to Earth.

Whether it gets where Tron: Legacy stopped, he added, “In a way, yes, that’s true. That’s correct. So yeah, I’m super excited.”

The film looks visually impressive and fans have been waiting for another installment for well over a decade, so expectations are high that this latest chapter will live up to expectations.

TRON: Ares follows a sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humanity’s first encounter with AI beings.

The film stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson. Directed by Joachim Rønning; Producers are Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Leto, Emma Ludbrook and Steven Lisberger.

TRON: Ares arrives in theaters on October 10, 2025.
