Dua Lipa cancels Jakarta concert due to unsafe stage issues

Dua Lipa will not perform in Jakarta on Saturday as the singer cites “a security issue during the performance.”

On Friday (November 8), the pop star posted a message on her Instagram Story that said: “It breaks my heart to inform you that I will not be performing in Jakarta this Saturday, November 9th . I am here in your wonderful country and ready.” I regret to report that it has been determined that the performance cannot safely proceed due to security issues with the production.”

The show was scheduled to take place at the 16,500-seat Indonesia Arena in Jakarta. Lipa further announces that ticket holders for the show will have their payments refunded at the point of purchase.

“I was so looking forward to this evening,” the statement continued, “and it pains me that we cannot perform for all of you, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta.”… I love you everyone and really can’t wait to be back in the same room together as soon as possible, singing and dancing your hearts out.”

Dua Lipa’s next tour stop is November 13th in Manila, Philippines. Their tour of Asia in November and December precedes the Radical Optimism Tour 2025, a 43-date tour that is scheduled to begin March 20 with a show at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, and reach New Zealand before moving on to arena shows traveling to Europe in Spain, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and England and then on to North America for a fall run.
