Immanuel Quickley OUT vs. Kings, through contact and conditioning

For anyone who’s been trying to keep up with the odyssey of Immanuel Quickley’s pelvic bruise? It’s still ongoing. He was reported OUT for the game against the Kings.

According to Eric Koreen, Quickley is in the “conditioning phase” and has a chance of playing against Los Angeles teams this weekend. Quickley, including Sacramento tonight, will have missed eight straight games in two full weeks.

In Quickley’s absence, Davion Mitchell has stepped in quite adeptly to man the point guard spot, making most of his impact on the defensive side. Mitchell scores almost 9 points, 6.5 assists and 1 steal in 29 minutes per game and has a shooting percentage of 50 percent. It was really hard to take that offensive production.

However, with both RJ Barrett and Gradey Dick more than ready to take shots on that side of the court and play for the Raptors? They have weathered the absence of Scottie Barnes and Quickley. At Cleaning the Glass, the Raptors currently have the 15th ranked offense in the NBA – and despite all the injuries, their half-court offense is comparable to last season (93.4 points per 100 possessions vs. 94.2 points per 100 possessions ).

Dick and Barrett combine for over 47 points and 10 assists per game, and this is due to the convincing efficiency of the two – Dick (60% shooting rate), Barrett (54% shooting rate). Not to mention, Jakob Poeltl is consistently posting career-highs of 15.6 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game – along with 5.9 screen assists per game, second in the NBA.

It should be interesting to see what things look like when the Raptors franchise point guard appears in the lineup again. We’ll have to wait for the weekend to see it.

I wish you a blessed day.
