Penn State vs. Washington live stream, where to watch, TV channel, prediction, picks, spread, match odds

No. 6 Penn State is licking its wounds after losing to No. 3 Ohio State last week, but while the loss left plenty of bruises, the Nittany Lions still have a lot to play for. They are not out of the running for the Big Ten title, even though Ohio State has a significant lead in the tiebreaker. Furthermore, as the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings shows, they don’t need to win the Big Ten to keep their playoff hopes alive. According to sports betting apps, there is a -350 bet for the Nittany Lions to make the CFP.

But they have to keep winning, and this week they welcome Washington to Beaver Stadium. The Huskies had ups and downs in their first Big Ten season, but were able to pick up a home win against USC last weekend. Washington may not have a chance to win the Big Ten or make the playoffs at 5-4, but a road win over Penn State would be a statement for the program in Jedd Fisch’s first season as coach.

However, getting it won’t be easy. Penn State’s White Out game is Saturday night. So expect a crowd of over 100,000 people to be even angrier than usual after last week.

Penn State vs. Washington: What you need to know

This is the first regular season meeting since 1921: Listen, we’re all still adjusting to a world where Washington, Oregon, USC and UCLA are the Big Ten schools. One of the reasons it’s so difficult to adapt is the fact you just read. These two conference participants are not exactly geographical rivals! Penn State won the 1921 meeting in Seattle 21-7 and has since won two more bowl games (the 1983 Aloha Bowl and the 2017 Fiesta Bowl) against the Huskies.

Penn State has won 27 straight games against unranked opponents: There are disgruntled Penn State fans who read this fact with anger, considering the Nittany Lions lost at home to Ohio State last week – in their eyes, the latest in a string of too many losses to ranked teams. While James Franklin may have trouble beating ranked teams, he has no trouble beating the ones he’s supposed to beat. Penn State’s 27-game winning streak against unranked teams is the fourth-longest active streak in the country.

Location, location, location!: This is important for both the real estate sector and Washington’s profit-loss balance. The Huskies have played five home games at Husky Stadium this season. They won all five by an average of 17.4 points. On the other hand, they lost all three of their actual away games. Their fourth loss came against Washington State at neutral Lumen Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks. While the Huskies lost their first road game against Rutgers by just three points, their losses to Iowa and Indiana were by 24 and 14, respectively. Beaver Stadium will be no easier than any of those places.

Penn State vs. Washington Prediction, Tips

The reason Penn State didn’t beat Ohio State is, as it has all too many times before, that the offense didn’t shine. It was nothing new. Penn State’s offense has had its moments this season, but there have been no consistent performances. It’s hard to trust the Nittany Lions to find a solution this weekend, but I trust their defense will hold Washington enough to keep the bets off. Selection: Under 46.5
