Australia vs Pakistan: Tourists win the third ODI in Perth to secure series victory

Australia had to bat first and never recovered from their slide from 20-0 to 88-6. Cooper Connolly retired injured after suffering a suspected broken hand after being hit by Mohammad Hasnain.

Sean Abbott scored a team-best 30 points while six batters failed to reach double figures.

“Our entire batting line-up didn’t get going at all throughout the series,” said captain Josh Inglis.

Pakistan openers Saim Ayub and Shafique put on 84 for the first wicket before captain Rizwan and Babar Azam secured a 2-1 series win.

Australia won the first ODI by two wickets and Pakistan won the second by nine wickets.

They begin a three-match T20 series starting in Brisbane on Thursday.
