Sunday, lazy Sunday. A day where I like to imagine that I’ll just be lazing around and doing nothing, when in reality I’m usually just as busy with work, chores and activities as any other day of the week. Still, it’s fun to pretend. We have a new Strands grid for word discovery today, so let’s dive right in and start the day in style. . . .

Strands is the latest game in the New York Times puzzle game series. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Each day we are given a new topic and then have to reveal all the words on the grid that fit that topic, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of those words is this Spangram This goes from one side of the grid to the other and reveals even more about the topic of the day.

After the first couple, it was pretty obvious that today’s words would all be associated with the word “SUIT.” Still, it took me a while to even find a word that worked. I even found “WEBSITE” but that wasn’t a word. Finally I found CIVIL and STRONG and then everything just sort of appeared. JUMP and then WELLSUITED, the Spangram and everything else in a row. Clever topic!
