Hamas’ terror continues as torture videos of Gazans come to light

Hamas’ filmed torture of Gaza prisoners was found by Israeli troops in Jabaliya, according to new reports.

As IDF operations continue operations in the Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers have become accustomed to uncovering weapons caches in children’s bedrooms, booby-trapped homes and terror tunnels beneath hospitals, schools and mosques. However, the Daily Mail revealed that thousands of hours of horrific CCTV footage have now been discovered.

Scenes from 2018 and 2019 show Palestinians with hoods on their heads and bound hands or feet in excruciating pain. They can be tied up and twisted awkwardly while their guards chat relaxed and casually. In some harrowing scenes, one of the captors beat a prisoner on the soles of his feet with sticks as he screamed and protested. In another case, a guard appeared to choke one of the prisoners even though he was handcuffed.

The footage was “accidentally” captured by CCTV and discovered on computers at a deserted site in the Jabaliya refugee camp earlier this year. A senior Israeli military source told The Mail on Sunday: “The IDF found these CCTV images in March. It took months to go through them all.”

Although the videos do not indicate why the prisoners were held, Hamas is known for imprisoning those who oppose the regime in any way, particularly those suspected of collaborating with Israel.

Hamas’ torture of prisoners is not, and has been, new information documented in detail by Amnesty International. Its 44-page summary highlights a range of abuses, including extrajudicial killings, kidnappings and torture.

There are Testimonials of believers of Muslim backgrounds detained and tortured by Hamas for converting to Christianity, as well as those suspected of being homosexual, adulterous or apostates from Islam. Under Hamas rule, such deviations from Islamic law are considered crimes punishable by imprisonment.

One case that recently caught media attention was that of Amin Abed, who was kidnapped by over 20 masked men earlier this year and brutally beaten until all of his limbs were broken. Ihab Hassan, a Palestinian Christian, posted on 𝕏 in July: “Hamas militants brutally kidnapped Palestinian political activist Amin Abed, brutally attacking him with batons and hitting him in the head with sharp tools. He is now in critical condition in hospital and fighting for his life. Our thoughts are with Amin as he struggles to survive this brutal attack.”

Hamza Howidy, a vocal critic of the Hamas terror group, is originally from Gaza but now lives safely in Berlindivided how Abed was hospitalized with horrific injuries and only had a few teeth left.

“He’s the bravest Gazan you’ll ever meet,” Howidy said of his friend. The two men have tried to spread a voice of dissent against Hamas so that others will follow, but the violent repercussions they face make gaining momentum nearly impossible.

Another report by i24 News catalogs some of the tortures faced by people living a homosexual lifestyle.

“They wouldn’t let me sleep inside or go to the toilet. There was no food,” said one man. “They would torture me so badly. Sometimes they tied my feet and beat them with a stick. After that, they arrested me every few years and tortured me in the same way.”

On Sunday, Howidy told the Mail about his own experiences of torture in Gaza before he escaped. proverb They tortured him three times a week.

“They tortured you until you were broke and said whatever they wanted,” he recalled. “I could hear my fellow protesters screaming in the next room.”

Howidy described how one man he knew had “objects inserted into his body” and another was electrocuted for years before being found innocent.

A former Israeli intelligence officer told the Mail: “They have been known to melt plastic on their skin and electrical wires on their body.” He added: “Some are electrocuted on electricity poles or are dragged from a vehicle by a chain until they die.”

Howidy stated: “Hamas is holding the people of Gaza hostage.”
