A Conway man was arrested following a midnight standoff and a barricade

CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) – A Conway man was arrested early Sunday morning following a domestic incident that led to him barricading himself, according to a Conway Police spokesperson.

Officials said the standoff began just before midnight at a home on Long Avenue Extension.

The situation was resolved and the man was arrested by Conway police. The man’s name and charges have not been released at this time.

A witness to the incident said the standoff lasted four hours and the SWAT agency was called in. The witness also said SWAT used tear gas and an armored vehicle to break up the standoff.
