Bears vs. Patriots – Lineups, Inactives, How to Watch, More

It’s a shame that the Chicago Bears are going through turbulent times right now, because it should have been a week where we were rooting for the showdown between Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Williams and Maye were two of the top quarterback prospects selected in the NFL Draft last April. And with all the noise this week has brought us, I’m looking forward to the matchup between two signal-callers looking to build their respective teams over the next few years.

Whatever the case, Drake Maye is looking forward to it too. As it turns out, these two are close friends:

“You spend a lot of time with these guys, some you see on visits, some you see at the combine,” Maye said on Pro Football Talk. “With Caleb, I’ve seen him since high school. We went to the same camps, we were in Elite 11 together, and we had a few college visits together. We go through the process again. We were friends in college, I enjoyed watching him do his thing, and now we get the chance to compete. Anytime you go up against a rookie quarterback in the same class, it’s a little extra. I’m excited to go out there and get a chance to play against the Bears.”

Matchups between Caleb Williams and Drake Maye won’t happen often. With the Bears playing in the NFC North and the Patriots struggling in the AFC East, these games aren’t often on the schedule. So we might as well enjoy it while we can.
