The Cleveland Browns have the NFL’s longest active losing streak for finishing atop their division, having last won an AFC North title in the 1980s.

Since 1999, the year the Browns were reborn in Cleveland, every other NFL franchise has won a division title.

The road to ending that streak this season is long and narrow after the Browns started the season with a 2-7 record, but a chance still remains.

Analyst Ken McKusick shared a wild stat from Oddschecker on

According to McKusick’s post, the Browns have a 0.1 percent chance of winning their first crown since 1989.

Cleveland’s path to winning the AFC North crown begins with winning all four remaining games against its division rivals, as well as most – if not all – of the team’s other four non-division contests.

Then the Browns would need a lot of luck in the NFL and the other AFC North teams would have to accept significant losses.

McKusick announced that the Baltimore Ravens – a team that won its second division contest against the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this week – have the best odds of winning the division title at 72.5 percent.

Pittsburgh is currently at the top of the division with a record of 6-2, but the Steelers have the second-best chance of winning the league with a shooting percentage of 22.6 percent.

According to Oddschecker, the Bengals have very little chance of winning the league.

At 4-6, the Browns’ in-state rivals have a 2 percent chance of winning the AFC North title this year.
