Body found in Elk Grove Village: Woman found dead in Busse Woods, identified as Atalia Pucheta Martinez; Police are investigating

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (WLS) – The death investigation will continue Sunday after a woman was found dead in a north suburban wooded area Saturday morning, police said.

The body has now been identified as 23-year-old Atalia Pucheta Martinez, the Cook County coroner’s office said.

Elk Grove Village police said Saturday that initial information indicates that a driver noticed a person lying in Busse Woods near Higgins Road about a mile west of Arlington Heights Road around 9:30 a.m

Cook County Forest Preserve Police are conducting a death investigation.

Elk Grove Village police said Saturday there were no active missing person reports and there was no threat to the community.
