Temporis recognizes top designs and innovations in the global watch industry

The winners of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the watch industry’s premier awards program, will be announced in Geneva next week. Meanwhile, another series of watch awards, the Temporis International Awards, have become predictors of GPHG winners, much like the Golden Globes are a harbinger of the Oscars in the film industry.

The 11th edition of the annual Temporis International Awards took place on October 25th in Zurich and presented prizes in 14 categories. The top honor, Watch of the Year 2024, went to Parmigiani Fleurer for its Toric Petite Seconde, a classic three-hand small seconds watch with Parmigiani’s signature knurled bezel. The watch is also a strong contender in next week’s GPHG men’s category. The Jury Prize, another of Temporis’ highest honors, went to De Bethune’s DB Art of Grande Complication with functions such as hours, minutes, date, day, month, year, moon phases, power reserve indicator, jumping seconds, tourbillon and perpetual calendar. The DB Kind of Grande Complication is up for a prize in the GPHG’s Men’s Complications category. Both top Temporis winners are also eligible for the GPHG’s main prize, the Aiguille d’Or or the Grand Prix.

Temporis has some great categories unrelated to GPHG slots such as “Best Sustainable Watch”, “Best Innovative Watch” and “Best Startup Watch”. Here is the full list of Temporis International Awards 2024 winners. Several of the watches are also up for GPHG awards, including those from IWC, Breitling, Hublot and Ulysse Nardin.
