Kyler Murray sets Arizona Cardinals record

GLENDALE – Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray set a new franchise record with 17 consecutive completions against the New York Jets in Week 10.

For publication: Murray has completed 22/24 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown and added two more rushing touchdowns to his resume.

The Cardinals currently lead New York 31-6 late in the game.

Murray was incredibly great not just in Week 10, but for much of the season. Murray and the rest of the Cardinals are now fully healthy and in their second year under the direction of offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. They surprised everyone before Sunday with a 5-4 record, good enough to lead the division.

Despite last week’s win, Murray was unhappy with the way he was playing.

“You just rinse it out. To be able to win a game like that and not have to do what I normally have to do to win my entire career is a nice thing. Just to be able to pass the ball, defend and win. “Yes, that’s something good football teams can do,” Murray said.

“I don’t want to say we’re good right now, but we’re growing. Every week we try to get better and better, that’s the attitude. That doesn’t make me think less about what we can achieve offensively or myself. I think that was the way they played against us and it wasn’t all bad. I just had bad taste.

“Why? Probably because I missed (TE) Trey (McBride). If I had hit Trey (and) had a touchdown, I probably would have felt a lot better about the game. Cool, I’ll pass the ball all day.” . They go back to the drawing board and another week of preparation against a great team that we don’t have to deal with this week.”

It’s safe to say the Cardinals’ franchise quarterback will feel better about this performance.
