Jared Goff throws a 20-yard TD pass, the Lions trail the Texans 10-7

The Lions prevailed against the Texans.

Quarterback Jared Goff threw a 20-yard touchdown to tight end Sam LaPorta to make the score 10-7 for Houston.

Detroit was on the verge of giving the ball back to Houston early in the possession and faced third-and-16. But Goff found receiver Jameson Williams down the middle of the field for a 23-yard reception to move the chains. Williams initially let the ball wobble, but was able to secure it for the first down.

On the next down, Goff connected with Williams again on third-and-six for a 13-yard gain.

One play after converting third-and-1 with a 2-yard scramble, Goff rolled right and found an open LaPorta in the end zone, giving Detroit its first points of the game.

It was LaPorta’s third touchdown of the season.

Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil had to briefly stop the game, but was back in action at the start of the second quarter. Tunsil was rolled up and struggled with an ankle injury all season.
