Live updates on the 2024 election: Trump wins Arizona, making it a stunning victory over all swing states

Donald Trump praises “Ice Maiden” Susie Wiles after historic election victory

Donald Trump has officially chosen Arizona, the last state to be nominated in the 2024 election, giving the Republican a clear victory over all seven swing states.

The result brings Trump’s final vote total to 312, compared to Kamala Harris’ 226.

Trump had previously announced that two of his former Cabinet members – former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – would not be appointed to his administration this time.

Trump announced the decision Saturday night on Truth Social, days after he announced that Susie Wiles, his campaign manager, would serve as chief of staff.

With the results of the election still in, control of the House of Representatives is still up for grabs, but Republicans have already retaken control of the Senate.

Three Senate Republicans are vying to replace Mitch McConnell as leader of the chamber: John Cornyn, John Thune and Rick Scott. The election will take place on November 13th.

Earlier Saturday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that President Joe Biden and Trump would meet at the White House this week to launch transition plans between the administrations of the two longtime political foes.

Susie Wiles’ demands to accept Trump’s top White House role have been revealed

Susie Wiles, the newly appointed chief of staff for Trump’s second White House, reportedly made a number of demands before accepting the high-level role in the president-elect’s incoming administration.

The 66-year-old Wiles, whom Trump himself called an “ice maiden” and is considered one of the most important influences on his third election campaign, was named to the top job on Thursday.

Historically, the chief of staff is the first official appointed by the president-elect and is tasked with overseeing all policy and day-to-day affairs of the White House.

According to a source close to both Wiles and Trump, the former campaign manager sought assurances from the president-elect before taking office.

The source said Wiles wanted confirmation that she would have more authority than her predecessors in controlling access to the Oval Office before accepting the job.
