Montgomery woman dies in Thursday accident

Carol W. Lowe, 63, was fatally injured when the 2007 Honda Pilot in which she was a passenger left the road and struck a tree, Lt. Jeremy Burkett, spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene. The pilot’s driver, Wilbert A. Brooks, 63, of Montgomery, was also injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment, Burkett said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred on U.S. 80 near the 122 mile mark, about three miles west of Montgomery in Montgomery County, he said.
