Micah Parsons appeared to throw shade at Mike McCarthy after the Cowboys’ loss to the Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys’ 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles gave fans plenty to think about on Sunday, from the flawed design of AT&T Stadium to the team’s increasingly bleak future.

The Cowboys finished Sunday’s game with 32 net passing yards as Cooper Rush and the offense couldn’t get anything going on the ground or through the air. With the Cowboys losing Dak Prescott for the remainder of the season, they may need to look at themselves in the mirror as there are a lot more questions than answers at this point in the year.

After the brutal loss to Philly, Cowboys star Micah Parsons shared his candid perspective on the team’s coaching in particular.

“Mike (McCarthy) can go and go wherever he wants,” Parsons said of Jori Epstein. “Guys I kind of feel bad for are guys like Zack Martin and guys who are maybe in their senior year or about to be. Because I wanted to hold the trophy for him. With legends like that, who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy, you want to win games and achieve great things.”

Parsons added that the question of whether Mike McCarthy will coach the Cowboys next year is “above my pay grade.”

It is worth noting that Parsons’ comments can be interpreted in different ways. The All-Pro pass rusher may not have intended to outshine his head coach, but was simply venting his frustration after an all-around poor game from the Cowboys.

However, his comment about wanting to win games for “legends” other than McCarthy seems a bit like a veiled criticism.

Perhaps Parsons will clarify his comments later this week.
