Spartanburg shooting Spinx damages car in which man was sleeping

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg Police are responding to a shooting incident Monday where two men fired next to a Spinx near a vehicle where a man was sleeping.

According to officials, the clerk at the Spinx on John B White Sr Boulevard in Spartanburg said around 1:10 a.m. Monday that a man began verbally attacking another group of men who entered the store after him.

One of the men then pulled out a gun to intimidate the others, police said.

Officials report the argument moved outside, where a man walked to the end of the car wash next to Spinx and began shooting.

Another man, wearing a black jacket and gray shorts, began shooting back, police said.

According to officials, the shells from the shooting hit a white Hyundai in which a man was sleeping before one of the suspects left the scene in an unknown direction in a blue Ford.

Police report that the sleeping man was not injured and that the Hyundai was the only property damaged after the shooting.

The shooting involved four men, one wearing a black jacket with gray shorts, another wearing a red hoodie with black jeans, a third wearing a black jacket with gray pants and the fourth wearing all black, officials said.

Police report that two book bags were recovered from the scene, one of which contained 25.6 grams of a green leafy substance, as well as a scale, an Apple Air Pod and a Calisto soda bottle found underneath the Hyundai.
