What is closed on Veterans Day Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth?

It’s Veterans Day. Special ceremonies and dining offerings are planned in North Texas to pay tribute to military veterans and active-duty personnel.

The federal holiday honoring military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces also means some locations in Dallas-Fort Worth will remain closed Monday.

Here are some locations where operations will resume Tuesday:

Post Office

Did you get any mail? Some of it will have to wait until Tuesday.

All U.S. Postal Service retail locations are closed and no residential or business mail will be delivered in celebration of Veterans Day.

However, private shippers will continue to operate on Monday. Amazon and most FedEx and UPS services and stores are not affected by the holidays.

Banks

The holiday impacts financial institutions in different ways. Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citibank and TD Bank branches will be closed Monday for the holiday, as will Federal Reserve banks.

But the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq are open for trading on Veterans Day.

Government offices

City of Dallas offices will be closed Monday for Veterans Day. These include municipal courts, libraries, and parks and recreation areas.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles offices are closed, as are all other state and federal offices.

shops

Major retailers like Walmart and Target will remain open Monday. Malls like NorthPark Center in Dallas and Stonebriar Center in Frisco are also welcoming shoppers.
