Train damaged in Greeneville after accident involving tractor-trailer

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A train is heavily damaged after crashing into a tractor-trailer in Greeneville, according to a police report obtained by WVLT News.

The accident occurred around 11 a.m. Monday when the tractor-trailer attempted to turn left across the tracks near Snapps Ferry Road and Coile Street.

The report said the driver of the tractor-trailer failed to yield to the train, which caused the accident. The truck’s trailer was damaged, but the vehicle itself was not.

The conductor of the locomotive reported pain in his wrist to the police. According to the report, the truck driver was not injured.
