Woman arrested for drunk driving and drug charges

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A woman was arrested by a Laurel County Sheriff’s Office officer on Friday around 11:57 p.m.

Katelyn Sulfridge, 28, faces multiple charges after she reportedly hit another car while driving.

The arrest occurred in a business parking lot on US-25, about 9 miles south of London.

According to Sheriff’s Department officials, Sulfridge was determined to be under the influence.

While officers were taking her to the Laurel County Correctional Center, she was caught trying to hide and destroy drugs. The drugs were determined to be meth, which Sulfridge admitted to using.

She is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (first offense) and failing to use prescription substances in the proper packaging (first offense).

An off-duty Knox County sheriff’s deputy assisted in the investigation.
